Hotel Tiefenbrunner

A piece of HISTORICAL KITZBÜHEL to savour!

In 2010 the „Tiefenbrunner” has been owned by our family for

200 years, the building itself is approx 700 – 800 years old!

Guest house, brewery, stables
- during the war a hospital

and since the war a Hotel!

The family history began in the year 1810 when

  • Josef Steiner from the Pinzgau bought the “Tiefenbrunner”
    and “Welserhaus”.

  • His daughter Anna married Sebastian Schlechter
(their portraits are hanging in the Hotel restaurant) and their

  • son Jakob later took over!

Jakob Schlechter was married but unable to have children
with his wife but did have three sons with his
    housekeeper Maria Mamoser!

  • Hugo Mamoser became the „Tiafinga“ and married Maria Putz
from Kirchberg – my grandmother Maria Mamoser
was born in  January 1914! Unfortunately in August 1914
Hugo was the first Kitzbüheler to fall in Serbia –
at the age of 31 years only!!!

  • In 1917 my great-grandmother Maria, married Franz Waltl,
and they had two sons together who both died
    in the second world war!

  • So my grandmother inherited the „Tiefenbrunner“,
hich was then passed onto my parents in 1974!

  • I have now run the business since 1999…

Yours Maria Brunner
