History
The name comes from G.Tieffenpronner who owned the house back in 1693. Parts of the building, such as the vaults in the “Goldene Gams” and “Roßhimmel” restaurants, together with the wine cellars, are anywhere from 800 to 900 years old.......... Since 1810, the house has been owned by our family. Its history alone could probably provide enough material for an entire, drama-filled novel, with all the highs and lows of interpersonal relationships ... back in the old days, as is the case today, our family members were also very passionate skiers.
Since time immemorial the Tiefenbrunner had housed a post office and horse-changing station. These were not closed down until 1925.
A brewery was also located here. In fact, Mrs. Brunner’s great grandfather was the last beer brewer in Kitzbühel, topping up his last keg in 1908 ...
In the two world wars, a hospital for the war-wounded was set up in the rooms of the “Gasthof Tiefenbrunner”.
The so-called “Welserhaus”, which now houses the conference room, luxury suites and the cozy inglenook lobby, was renovated in 1990
